  1. RoadScan - A checker for RoadRoute data files

  4. Put this in the same directory as Roads and Cities, or at
  5. least CD to that directory.  Call the program, and it will
  6. tell you a lot of stuff...
  7.   1. Duplicate roads.  If you have two or more roads going,
  8. say, from Boston to Providence, you'll be told about it.
  9. There could be a reason to have two roads - one is faster,
  10. the other is shorter - but it's usually an error.
  11.   2. Cities with no roads.  You can't get there from here.
  12.   3. Cities with one road, two roads, or three.  All quite
  13. possible, but if they are "unimportant" points, you might
  14. like to take them out and save space.  For two/three roads,
  15. connecting cities could be linked by direct roads.
  16.   4. Road links which are longer than multiple links for the
  17. same route.  Hey:  "direct" gotta be at least as fast as "via".
  18. Run RoadRoute for these paths and see what's wrong.
